Our Range of Internal Sliding Doors

Direct Doors supplies a collection of internal sliding door styles, including flush, panel, and glazed doors, to suit every home. Here’s what you can expect from our internal sliding doors:

  • Easy to install with minimum tools
  • Available using three MDF frame kits
  • Variety of aluminium track lengths and door widths, including bespoke options
  • Double-matching track to allow doors to bypass each other
  • A soft-close component to prevent the internal sliding doors from slamming
  • Track stops to fix the sliding mechanism in position
  • No trip hazard, making these kits the ideal solution for passages

Now, let’s explore the details behind our wide variety of sliding door systems:

Variety of Door Types

Our internal sliding doors are available in flush, panel, and glazed designs, giving you flexibility to create traditional and contemporary spaces:

  • Flush: Offers a clean, minimalist aesthetic with no raised mouldings. These sliding doors are ideal for adding a modern touch to your space.

  • Panel: Bring classic character with their shaped or grooved detailing, making them a popular choice for those wanting traditional doors.

  • Glazed: Let natural light filter through your rooms to help create a balance of privacy and brightness. Glazed sliding doors are perfect for en-suite bathrooms and offices.

Multiple Door Styles

We offer internal sliding doors in several options:

  • Double internal sliding doors are ideal for standard openings or smaller spaces.

  • Three or four-door options divide larger areas more effectively than double sliding doors, making them a more versatile room divider in open-plan living rooms, home offices, or dining spaces.

Unique Door Faces

We offer a variety of door faces to suit different living spaces and budgets. Choose from laminated finishes to create a practical, modern touch, or go with wooden sliding doors like oak or walnut for warmth and character.

If you’d prefer to customise your doors, painted doors are available in popular shades, while primed sliding doors provide a smooth base ready for your own choice of colour.

Customisable Door Finishes

You can select your internal sliding doors in two finish options:

  • Pre-finished: Saves you time and effort, arriving ready to install with no further decoration needed.

  • Unfinished: Enables you to make a statement with your own paint designs, ensuring a personalised passage sliding door.

Bold Colour Options

Our internal sliding doors come in a wide variety of colours and natural tones, from classic oak and walnut finishes to crisp white and modern greys.

These options make it easy to find interior sliding doors that blend with existing furniture, flooring, or colours in your living area.

Abundant Glazing Choices

If you want to brighten your interior space while maintaining privacy, our glazed internal sliding doors are an excellent solution.

Our sliding door options include clear glass for maximum light transfer, frosted or obscure glass for added discretion, and decorative glazing to bring a touch of design flair.

Some sliding doors feature full glass panels, ideal for connecting open-plan spaces, while others have smaller inserts to add elegance without overwhelming the design or space.

How to Choose Internal Sliding Doors for Your Home

Here are some factors to help you choose a sliding door for your passage:

Wall Height & Width

The structural wall opening heights are the maximums shown, but top track hangers and bottom clearances are adjustable by 15mm for all variations. This allows some tolerance for discrepancies between wall and floor levels.

Widths are as shown in the product purchase options, and we allow a 20mm overlap where doors "meet".

You could overlap more to allow for slightly smaller openings. However, you will require architraves, which aren’t included in the sliding internal doors’ system.

Sliding Door Thickness

All sliding doors are 35mm thick and have a solid MDF or similar core covered with a quality timber veneer or surface material for painted or white versions.

Our interior sliding door edges allow safe trimming by a small margin on each side and the top. However, the bottom frame requires cutting on-site to size, regardless of whether you trim the doors or not.

Sliding Door Size

Our Standard sliding internal doors are a versatile and easy-to-install system for heavy-duty sliding doors. Available using 3 individual door widths, offering a maximum of 3372mm wide and 2086mm high for the standard door range across several sliding track kits.

FAQs about Sliding Interior Doors

Here are some other questions you may have before choosing a sliding door for your hallway:

What Are the Benefits of Internal Sliding Doors?

A sliding hallway door offers several advantages that make it a smart choice for modern homes. These include:

  • Saved space: Internal sliding doors don’t need space to swing, making them ideal for narrow hallways, bathrooms, tight areas, and small rooms.

  • Versatile room layouts: Wider sliding passage systems (two, three, or four doors) let you create open spaces for gatherings or close rooms for privacy.

  • Improves natural light: Glazed options brighten interior passages and adjoining rooms while still maintaining a level of privacy.

Is It Easy to Maintain Internal Sliding Doors?

A hallway sliding door is generally easy to maintain, as it runs on a track mechanism rather than using hinges. This means there are fewer moving parts in which problems could occur.

Maintenance typically involves keeping the track mechanism free of dust and debris, occasionally wiping down the rollers, and checking that the sliding systems glide smoothly.

For glazed sliding doors, a quick clean with a suitable glass cleaner keeps them looking bright and clear.

Additionally, because sliding doors don’t operate on a swing mechanism, they don’t slam, preventing damage to the door and wall space.

Do Your Internal Doors Have a Guarantee?

Yes, all of our sliding doors come with a manufacturer’s guarantee.

The length of cover depends on the specific sliding door, but most include a 12-month guarantee as standard. Full details for each item can be found on its product page, and you can also review our terms and conditions for more information.

Please don’t arrange any tradesmen until the goods have arrived, been checked over for damage, and are suitable for installation as you intended. Courier delays due to illness, traffic issues or product damage can also impact your arrangements. Wood products will have a naturally occurring grain, which will vary regardless of veneer type. This is the beauty of wood. We cannot be held liable for any consequential costs should you arrange an early installation, the courier be delayed, or the grain be wavy/straight and not to your liking.
