Please note: these doors are not prefinished and require a final coat of paint before installation.

Our external doors are supplied matt primed and ready for finishing. Each order includes a 750ml can of top coat with a soft 50% gloss to give a subtle sheen. The full door must be sealed on-site, including edges, letter plate cut-outs and hinge recesses. Any adjustments, such as planing or ironmongery cut-outs, require three coats of external wood finish to protect the timber. Leaving bare timber untreated may lead to swelling, shrinking, splitting or warping.

Panel doors and glazed classic British styles, as well as a selection of modern designs, all come in beautiful finishes. These paint materials have been scientifically developed for us in Germany by the world-leading paint supplier Remmers. While we understand that some customers may feel the finish is sufficient, the addition of a topcoat is required, ideally  immediately beforer installation.

At least three quality hinges are required, while heavier oak designs may need four due to their weight.

Wood is a natural material and will always display variations in grain and texture. This individuality is part of its charm and cannot be guaranteed to match a sample exactly.

Please do not arrange any tradesman until the goods have arrived, been checked over for damages and are suitable for installation as you intended, courier delays due to illness, traffic issues or product damages can also impact on your arrangements. Wood products will have a naturally occurring grain, this will vary regardless of veneer type, this is the beauty of wood. We cannot be held liable for any consequential costs should you arrange an early installation or whether the courier is delayed and lastly if the grain is wavy / straight and not to your liking.
