Double fire doors are shown only as a visual indication as to how they might look in situ. However, the accreditation relates only to an individual door, please check this is suitable for compliance in your particular location.

We currently stock two different fire-rated doors: FD30 and FD60.
Your budget and your situation will typically dictate the type of fire door you should install.
FD30: Glass, panelled and flush are usually44-45mm" class="unit">44-45mm in thickness, as opposed to the standard door thickness of 35mm
FD60: The one hour fire-rated doors are normally 54mm. These are usually more expensive due to the restricted choice and the required construction methods. They are most commonly used in commercial settings.
Construction and Installation:
The material from which the fire door frames are constructed (for example, softwood, hardwood, or MDF), as well as its section sizes, must comply with the required standards. What’s more, essential hardware (ironmongery) must have its own individual test evidence to prove fitness for purpose.
Most fire-rated door cores in the UK consist of any one of a number of materials, the actual product construction with some having a timber framing around the core and with a surface veneer while others have a lipping 20mm thick around the core, with a veneer on top.
For a fire-rated door to be truly effective, it must be fitted with approved intumescent strips.
Please do not arrange any tradesman until the goods have arrived, been checked over for damages and are suitable for installation as you intended, courier delays due to illness, traffic issues or product damages can also impact on your arrangements. Wood products will have a naturally occurring grain, this will vary regardless of veneer type, this is the beauty of wood. We cannot be held liable for any consequential costs should you arrange an early installation or whether the courier is delayed and lastly if the grain is wavy / straight and not to your liking.
