FAQs about Our Glass Pocket Door Kits

Here are answers to common questions on our glass sliding pocket door kits to help you find the best type for your space:

What are the best applications for glass pocket doors?

Pocket doors with glass are perfect for when you want to maximise light while saving space. Their functionality is best suited to:

• Living and dining spaces: Pocket glass doors allow you to connect these rooms for maximum space or separate them for a more cosy feel.

• Home offices: Offers privacy without sacrificing natural light, providing a comfortable workspace.

• Kitchens: Single pocket doors are ideal for pantries or utility areas where swing doors may obstruct appliances.

• En-suite bathrooms: Obscure glass provides privacy while still brightening the space.

How do you install glass pocket doors?

Installing pocket doors requires creating a cavity in your wall for the door to slide into. Here are the essential steps you’ll need to follow:

• Measure the door: Check the door and frames’ dimensions to ensure the finished wall thickness can accommodate them.

• Assess the wall: Avoid installing the door in a load-bearing wall with plugs, wiring, or pipes.

• Remove plasterboard: You need to remove the plasterboard to create the opening in the wall.

• Build the cassette: Assemble the frame and secure it to the floor and studs. Fit the soft-close accessories.

• Attach the door: Fix the sliding track to the cassette, then connect the runners to the door and fit them to the track.

• Board the opening: After testing the pocket sliding glass doors and soft-close accessories, place plasterboard over the cassette and add architraves to the finished wall.
