Apprenticeship grants are snapped up
A minimum of 18000 apprenticeships were created in England in the past year.
This information relates to the last 9 months and covers the 16-24 age group with aproximately 65% aged under 19 years of age.
There was also a healthy balance in favour of funding for the intermediate level apprenticeships with the balance for Advance level.
The grant which has a value of £1500 is for companies that have never employed an apprentice before or have not employed an apprentice in the last 12 months.
This funding period which was due to end during the 2012/13 financial year has now been extended until at least the end of 2013.
This information and more is available from the National Apprenticeship Service.
