Fire Door Matched Pair Disclaimer:
All our fire doors including glazed fire doors are certified as single doors and our door suppliers are able to provide proof of performance showing the individual door successfully completed a rigorous fire test to the BS 476 Part 22 standard or the European equivalent BS EN 1634, the fire door matched pairs are shown to allow you to visualise how they would look and are factory chosen for matching the veneers / colour as closely as possible, the certification relates to a single door and a dialogue should be undertaken with your planning and / or fire officer as to the requirements for compliance but most importantly fire door matching pairs cannot be rebated.
All double fire doors must be fitted with the correct level of fire & smoke seals as well as the correct frame and hinges, none of the doors are rebated where they meet but could be shown with a rebate for display purposes only, see our interior fire doors section for the full spec details, sizes are "tight" without any fitting clearances allowed, many of the fire doors are deemed "SPECIAL ORDER", this means that any orders that are subsequently cancelled by the customer are NON-REFUNDABLE.
Most fireproof doors UK have a solid core construction which can include: particleboard, chipboard, flaxboard and solid timber. The assembly can vary greatly, some have a timber framing around the core with a laminated veneer, others have a lipping (5-20mm thick) around the core with a veneer on top and in some cases a plywood, veneer or MDF facing is glued on to the core without framing or lipping's. There is no preferred or regulated construction method and no need for one as long as the desired fire rating is achieved.

Not all doors have the Paint N Peel facility, door sizes within the above pdf are a guide only (mainly for single doors) and each product should be checked for individual sizes as fire doors are in the main 45mm thick but some are even thicker when they are 1 hour (60 minute fire rated) and therefore care should be taken, call 01968 671681 for clarity or assistance.
