New GRP doors from LPD

What is a GRP door?

Composite doors are made up from a variety of materials, including PVC, wood; insulating foam and GRP (glass reinforced plastic). The combination of materials results in a door that is very strong and secure. ... Composite doors have a higher thermal resistance than wooden doors, due to the insulating foam core.

GRP stands for Glass Reinforced Polyester, and is more commonly known as fibreglass. GRP is a material that is commonly used in the most challenging marine applications, so it makes a perfect finish for external doors.

GRP doors have now become the preferred choice of entrance doors for many people due to the major advantages that composite doors have over the alternative wooden doors, steel doors and UPVC doors.

Super strong, high security, easy maintenance, excellent thermal efficiency and the general look and feel of a composite door make it the most popular door choice on the market.

NEW FRONT GRP DOORS FROM LPD

We are delighted to introduce a new range of top quality GRP composite doors that can be retrofitted to existing timber frames. With all of the looks of a traditional timber door but none of the maintenance worries, our new range of composite doors adds an exciting new option to the replacement door market. These GRP doors are as easy to fit as a standard timber door, and come in four styles across a fantastic range of colours and wood grain finishes. Another benefit is that there is no need for full frame sets, as these GRP doors can be fitted to existing timber frames. To facilitate this, the doors can be trimmed by an impressive 60mm, 20mm on each side, 20mm top and 40mm bottom. Of course, should you wish, matching sidelights are available to suit each style.

Both sides of our new GRP door have a glass reinforced plastic outerskin that requires very little maintenance - only an occasional wipe clean with a damp cloth will keep the door looking like new and it will never require painting.
