- Please be very careful when trying to fit Oak doors!
Due to the tight timber grain the door can split fairly easily, always "score" above and below the hinge recesses that you intend to cut out.
When drilling for the latch/lock make sure you do not allow the drill "bit/cutter" to deviate to the left or right within the thickness of the door as it may be impossible to get it back in alighnment and you could end up with the "bit" coming through the face of the door.
Above all, take your time!
