At DirectDoors.com we are often approached by customers who would like to know if internal doors can help to prevent the spread of fire within the home. The simple answer to this is YES. Restricting the spread of fire is the primary function of Fire Rated Doors. Every one of our fire rated doors - including glazed fire doors - are fully certified, with our suppliers able to provide proof of performance and certification.

We currently stock two different fire-rated doors: FD30 and FD60 (30-minute and 60-minute fire rated doors respectively). FD30 glass, panelled and flush doors are usually 44-45mm thick , as opposed to the standard door thickness of 35mm. FD60 (one hour fire-rated doors) are normally 54mm thick and are generally more expensive due to the restricted choice and required construction methods. FD60 doors are most likely to be used in commercial settings such as offices and stores.
