Our Range of Black Room Dividers
At Direct Doors, we serve homeowners across the UK by pairing the nation’s largest internal door selection with our own in-house innovations. We take pride in every detail, crafting convenient home solutions with the same care and standards we demand for our own properties.
Built on an award-winning reputation, we designed our signature ThruEasi® systems to deliver custom-feeling layouts without the hassle. Choosing the right black room divider screen means getting a complete setup that works straight out of the box.
Every order includes matching timber frames in an easy-to-assemble kit, saving you time during installation. It’s a simple way to add sleek, modern style while keeping your space adaptable to everyday life.
Here’s what to expect from our comprehensive black divider collection.
Single & Double Door Styles
Our single door with a single side screen is designed to maximise light while closing off smaller spaces. It is the perfect solution for creating private areas for quiet relaxation without cutting off natural light from neighbouring rooms.
Have a wider opening? Our double doors are a seamless addition to contemporary interiors, striking a brilliant balance between open-plan living and practical room division.
Choose the layout that fits your routine:
Double door with a single side screen: Provides a wider central entryway for smooth daily traffic while keeping a stationary glass panel to frame your layout.
Double door with a double side screen: Delivers a grand glass partition that floods large rooms with light, opening wide for social gatherings and closing tight when you need quiet separation.
Note: Handles and hinges are not included or pre-machined, giving you full freedom to pick hardware that matches your style.
Glazing Options
The glass you select shapes how natural light moves across your home. Each option turns a black frame partition into a functional feature, helping you create defined zones without darkening your interior.
Clear: Floods adjacent rooms with unhindered daylight, preserving an airy, connected feel across your entire floor.
Designer: Adds custom-patterned glass to your panels, creating an eye-catching focal point that elevates modern decor.
Reeded: Features textured vertical grooves that diffuse harsh sunlight, bringing subtle depth and style to your space.
Note: Reeded glass panels remain transparent and are not designed for privacy. Glass dimensions vary based on your chosen door and side screen combinations.
Premium Finishes
Our prefinished room dividers come fully treated and ready to hang, letting you update your living space without picking up a paintbrush. If you prefer to match a specific interior shade, our unfinished options give you complete freedom to stain or paint the timber yourself.
Each door face option is designed to suit your home renovation plans, down to the final detail:
Black primed room dividers: Prepared with a smooth black base coat, making them ideal for quick home application with your final black topcoat.
Painted room dividers: Arrive with a factory-applied black finish for an instant, smooth look right out of the box.
Note: Any finishing applies only to the door. Frames and other components are supplied unfinished and must be finished to match.

Black Divider FAQs
Find answers to common questions about what to expect when choosing a black room divider for sale from specialists with excellent reviews.
What are the safety features of glazed black room dividers?
Our glazed room dividers are designed with toughened safety glass, ensuring full BS EN 12150 compliance across all glass panels. The materials we use undergo thermal treatment, making them up to five times stronger than standard glass.
In the event of accidental impact, the glass fractures into small, blunt-edged fragments instead of sharp, dangerous shards. This controlled fragmentation delivers solid, reliable protection and practical functionality in high-traffic homes.
Are black room divider doors easy to install?
While we supply all types of doors designed for straightforward fitting in all types of homes, we do not offer installation. Follow our ThruEasi assembly and fitting instructions for step-by-step frame assembly and door layout details.
Each self-assembly kit includes pre-drilled timber sections, so you or your installer can build the frame with ease. You also get complete flexibility over daily function. Set the hinges during installation so doors open left, right, inward or outward to fit your living space.
For side screens, glass configurations range from 301 mm to 834 mm alongside 838 mm doors.
Panel inserts range from 292 mm to 838 mm across both 762 mm and 838 mm door options.
Note: When using double doors, ensure that unsprung handles are not fitted to the "slave" door, as they rely on the lock mechanism to stay level.
