Part M Doors may also be known as Disability Compliant which is a regulation in place that requires doors to have a certain minimum opening space requirement to allow wheelchair access within a property or building.
DirectDoors would like to help as much as possible to ensure you are getting the appropriate door for your needs; this is why we may ask you to double check with your local planning officer / council what regulations are in place for your property. Each part of the country could interpret the regulations differently so it's always best to check before you buy.
We offer a wide range of doors which will comply with Part M Regulations and they will still compliment your home in a stylish way. Regulations differ between new buildings and existing buildings so be sure to choose the correct size before you buy.
You may require a door which is both Part M and Fire Rated which we also have a wide range of, we offer these in both standard sizes and bespoke sizes so should you require a size that's a little more unusual, we can help.
Some of our customers have opted for a pocket door making it easier for access, you can push and slide these doors open and they slide into the wall, you can access them by a finger pull to close them.
You may require an External Door which has to be Part M Compliant, we have a wide range of different styles to choose from, such as timber, composite and even PVC.
Two things to note relating to compliance, Low thresholds are required on external doors and door widths must be made to comply with the "clear" width of access being crucial, the size of the door minus the frame where it intrudes into this width must be carefully dealt with, non-compliance could be very costly.
If you are looking for more than just a Part M door then take a look at our wide range here.
