Oak doors

For many years solid oak timber sections were used when making oak doors, nowadays almost all oak doors have been over veneered on solid timber or a flaxcore construction to ensure we are environmentally responsible with the use of our timber resources and to make sure that we can continue using the best veneers for our oak doors.

Oak doors are generally light in colour, virtually all our mahogany doors are also very light in colour, all oak doors can be waxed or stained, it is however best not to wax the inside of any doors that are fitted to a bathroom.

When fitting several oak doors to your home, place them near the intended openings and check that the doors are a reasonable match, if not turn some of the doors around to achieve the best results before trying to fit hinges.

This site has added numerous oak doors including panel doors, most of these oak panel doors are stunning, they are very stable and are genuine quality oak panel doors.

Exterior Oak Doors

We have recently added a new range of exterior oak doors, these doors are tri-glazed and provide good security and insulation, all our doors are constructed in the traditional way with Mortice & Tenon joints.

The use of oak doors has never been stronger and is growing daily, even when allowing for the fact that Oak doors are more expensive, there is a difference in the colour of oak doors when compared to mahogany doors but it is not as wide a variation as one might think.
