Unique Single & Double Door Styles
These made-to-measure traditionaldoors feature styles usually associated with the Victorian Period. We offer a range of single and double-door configurations to meet your exact needs, including doors with side screens or transoms.
Explore British Heritage door combinations that let you adapt your front entrance design to your home’s architectural needs and lighting preferences:
Single door: A classic, space-saving focal point featuring a bevelled profile on the internal side of the panels for a deep, premium finish.
Single door with a single side screen: Draws natural daylight directly into darker, narrow hallways without compromising front-entry security.
Single door with a double side screen: Frames your entrance symmetrically while flooding wide hallways with balanced morning and afternoon sun.
Single door and transom: Uses an elegant overhead glass panel to capture high-angle light while maintaining total eye-level privacy.
Single door with a single side transom: Delivers a bright, open-plan feel to off-centre entryways by combining side and overhead glazing.
Single door with a double-sided transom: Maximises glass surface area across large entrance arches, creating a bright, grand architectural statement.
Note: For Heritage single doors, we supply the mouldings that surround the panels on the flat exterior.
Our double Heritage French external doors feature mouldings on both the interior and exterior of the panels. Providing a grand, wide-opening entrance tailored to your exact layout, they combine smooth dual-door functionality with robust seals to keep draughts out.
Types of Custom External Doors
Our bespoke doors come in two style categories:
Panel: Feature raised or recessed mouldings that replicate classic Victorian and Georgian styles, giving your entrance character and depth.
Glazed: Allow more light into the living space, featuring glass inserts that combine functional security with appealing aesthetics.
Note: The traditional range doesn't feature mouldings, as its panels are raised, with bevelled beading on the inside.
Glazing Options
All glass-fitted external bespoke doors are manufactured with toughened safety glass. This beautiful range of double-glazed external doors features a dual-pane insulating gap that:
Maximises natural light
Optimises thermal performance
Reduces heat loss to keep your home warm and energy bills low
Tailor our made-to-measure external doors to your specific light and privacy requirements with these versatile glazing options:
Unglazed: Supplied ready to fit your own custom glass on-site.
Clear: Maximises transparency, flooding your living space with clean daylight.
Glass choice: Choose premium patterns such as Contora, Minster or Stippolyte to balance light and privacy in your preferred aesthetic.
Premium Finishes
Our Heritage and traditional made-to-measure external doors arrive hand-prepared in a premium, high-quality matte primer. This base coat, scientifically formulated by German specialists, seals the timber completely.
Applying your final on-site topcoat to all faces and edges is vital to guard against natural wood movement. Every painted door order includes a matching 750 ml can of topcoat paint, leaving a sophisticated 50% semi-gloss shine.
Select a standardised RAL colour to ensure a precise finish and the opportunity to transform the look and feel of your home:
Black: Delivers a deep, commanding focal point that anchors minimalist and contemporary architecture with a sleek, bold statement.
Dark Grey: A heavy, industrial-inspired tone that brings modern depth and rugged weather-resistant styling to your entryway.
Heather Blue: Offers a soft, welcoming pop of muted colour that blends beautifully with traditional stone and brickwork.
Light Grey: A subtle, clean neutral that creates an open, spacious entrance while reflecting natural daylight efficiently.
Sage Sky: Introduces an organic, earthy hue that evokes nature, adding an instant sense of calm to period properties.
White: A timeless, ultra-bright classic that maximises light reflection to make smaller front entryways appear significantly larger.

What installation tips should I follow for external doors that are made to measure?
All our bespoke period doors are supplied without finished decoration, and we recommend contacting a qualified joiner or carpenter to fit them.
While we don’t install doors, our team can provide expert advice on the installation process. Review our installation guidance for made-to-measure Heritage doors purchased with a frame set with fittings alongside these core fitting tips:
Ignore your old door sizes: Always check the overall outside sizes of the new frame against the inside opening of your brickwork to ensure it fits comfortably without forcing.
Protect timber from the elements: Coat your made-to-measure external doors with at least three layers of treatment on all faces, untreated cuts and edges before hanging.
Maintain True Gaps: Use a pencil to mark adjustments. You need a consistent 2 mm to 3 mm clearance gap along the top header and down both sides between the door and the frame.
Plane Equally for Balance: Shave the timber evenly across all four sides to retain an accurate structural shape and to keep the panel pattern perfectly balanced.

How do I maintain bespoke front doors?
Keeping your bespoke front doors secure, weatherproof and working smoothly is incredibly simple. Follow these maintenance steps to preserve your property’s build quality for years to come:
Regularly wipe down your timber frames and glass with warm, soapy water every 6 to 12 months. Never use abrasive chemical cleaners or high-pressure power washers, as these actively tear through protective paint and compromise the seals.
Annually check the weather-stripping seals along the frame edges for flat spots or fraying. Replacing worn draught seals keeps your home thermally efficient and prevents driving rain from seeping into the raw timber.
Lubricate your hinges, handles and multi-point lock mechanisms with a silicone or light machine oil every year. This keeps the physical movement fluid, reducing everyday wear and maintaining heavy-duty home protection.
Regularly inspect high-exposure areas, like the bottom rail and top edges. Touch up minor scuffs or apply a fresh topcoat before the paint splits, which guards your door against water ingress, cracking and natural wood movement.
