Please note:
Loose pin hinges must show more of the "ball" part of the hinge, this is the area that projects out from the face of the door when the door is closed, failure to understand this will result in your or your carpenter thinking the hinge is too large but unless it is done this way the hinge cannot have the pin removed as it will hit the frame.
You can take the pin out and lift the door off without having to unscrew from the frame.
