There are many doors that could be more ornate in their styles but we have chosen to show the ots popular traditional doors for this category and it should be viewed as just a sample (although large) of what we can do. The alternatives include Victorian, Georgian, Contemporary and the 30's style door with a top panel set abve 3 vertical lower panels, lots of options...... just the tough bit to go, the decision!
The Victorian and Georgian Periods were when doors became more of a stylised feature rather than just for function with internal doors of the early Georgian era were varnished or waxed to retain the natural appearance of the timber and were still being influenced by the earlier much darker, Baroque style.
The fashion for lighter colours became popular, moving away from heavy colours such as Burgundy, Green on walls and Natural dark timbers. Consequently doors were then painted, along with the walls, in pastel colours. Today these particular designs are suited, as then, to varnishing or painting.
