JB Kind Exterior Doors - External Doors

First impressions count and by fitting an oak exterior door to your home, you will certainly be adding style and distinction.

The beautiful real oak facings of our Therm-L range are prepared ready for your preferred varnish finish.

Therm L Doors;

Constructed with a solid composite core that incorporates insulating properties, the doors are compliant to Part ‘L’ of the building regulations - meeting the thermal ‘U’ (1.8w/m2k) value criteria for new build.

Supplied fitted with insulated glazing units that truly enhance the beauty of the doors. To achieve full thermal insulation properties, the glazed panels have an external face marked upon each door. For this reason, when glass panels are offset, it is necessary to specify left or right as viewed from outside. Matching sidelights can be reduced from 2057 to 1981mm and 457 to 356mm to fit, if secured in framing. Please note that they are not designed for use as opening doors.

Door & Frame Kits;

Great value external door frame kits, manufactured using solid oak (unfinished). Laminated construction for extra stability and material economy without losing authenticity.

Lengths supplied are sufficient for most standard door sizes, including a version for pair or sidelight configurations (ODF9457W). A separate boxed mullion is available where a rebate both sides is required for sidelights (OML9468).

All components require cutting to size. Draught strips are included, reversible open in or out.

Suitable for use externally but it is essential that complete shelter from direct rain and hot sunshine is provided if appearance and performance is to be maintained. Full treatment with a quality external wood finish is required.

Oak is a by-word for strength and durability but this should not be confused with the fact it is most vulnerable and can easily be degraded if constantly exposed to rain or hot sun. A South/South Westerly elevation facing the prevailing weather is the worst scenario. To preserve the beautiful appearance and to guarantee long, trouble-free service, it is essential to provide adequate shelter from the worst elements of the weather. Position them back from the front face of the building or fit a canopy/open porchway projecting not less than 1.5m.
