Door locks, Exterior doors; There are many different types of door locks available for front entrance doors, the most common door locks in use are the Yale 77, there are many variations of these type of door locks including the Era Standard door locks, these door locks are known as "night latches" and offer minimum security.

Door locks & latches, We offer enhanced Yale type door locks which is known as the Yale No1 which are locking dead door latches and has the facility to be "Key" locked on the inside, regardless of how good these locking dead door latches are we always recommend that you have fit 5 lever mortice dead door locks that comply with BS3621 which in turn complies with your insurance requirements.

It is possible to use 5 lever mortice sash door locks and/or latches on their own, these door locks also comply with BS3621 for insurance purposes, when using these type of door locks you must remember that you will need a pair of lever/lock handles, these type of door locks are normally fitted to the rear door to give easier access but is also useful for those of you who may have limited hand mobility.

Interior doors; latches, When fitting interior doors please make sure you buy the correct finish and depth of door latch, ball handles should have a larger door latch (95mm) but make sure they are suitable for the size of the door style chosen, conversely, lever handles should have a smaller door latch (65/75mm) fitted.

The only time to watch out for a difference to the above is when you decide to fit bathroom door locks and latches , we supply handles that are locking and are for use with a door latch, we also supply full WC door locks which require the use of a pair of WC Door lock handles, the difference between the two types of handles is the size, the locking handle is generally the smaller type with a turn button that locks the handle, the WC locking handle is the longer type with a turn button that operates the door locks.
